Aurora man hurt in Bailey crash

AURORA | An Aurora man was airlifted to a hospital after a Friday morning crash on Highway 285 near Bailey.

The crash happened about 8:30 a.m., roughly nine miles south of Bailey.

The man, whose name was not released, was driving a black Dodge Durango south on 285 when he veered into the northbound lane and slammed into a semi-truck’s trailer, the Colorado State Patrol said in a statement.

The man was air lifted to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Denver with critical injuries

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Both lanes of 285 were closed for approximately two hours but troopers said they have recently opened one lane at the crash scene and are alternating traffic.  There was no word Friday morning on when 285 will be completely open.
