FBI, APD investigate pair of bank robberies

AURORA | The FBI and Aurora police are investigating two separate bank robberies that occurred last week at Aurora banks less than a block apart. 

The first robbery happened Tuesday at the Key Bank at 1260 S. Buckley Road. According to the FBI, a black male in his late 20s or early 30s walked into the bank around 12:30 p.m., demanded money and fled. 

The robber is described as being between 6 feet 2 inches tall and 6 feet 4 inches tall and approximately 240 pounds.

The second robbery happened Thursday at the Chase Bank at 1200 S. Buckley Road. The FBI said a white man in his 40s walked into the bank around 5 p.m., demanded money and fled. 

The robber is described as being between 5 feet 11 inches tall and 6 feet tall with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes with a mustache and goatee.

The FBI is asking anyone with information about the robberies to call the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force at 303-629-7171 or remain anonymous and earn up to $2,000 by calling Crimestoppers at 720-913-STOP.
