AURORA | A 28-year-old motorcycle rider died after crashing Thursday night on Gun Club Road near East Jewell Avenue, police said.
Police said Ronald Allen, 28, was riding a 1998 Honda motorcycle south on Gun Club around 9:50 p.m. when he collided with a white Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra. Allen, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Oldsmobile, Kanecha Torrey, 20, of Denver, had pulled over shortly before the crash because they were lost, police said. When they tried to re-enter Gun Club, Allen swerved to avoid the car, losing control and sliding into the car.
Investigators are trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Witnesses told police Allen may have been speeding at the time of the crash.
