Motorcycle crash victim ID'd

AURORA | Police on Monday identified a motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday as a 32-year-old Denver man.

Andrew Graziano died of blunt impact injuries to his head and trunk, according to a statement from the Arapahoe County coroner’s office.

The crash happened around 3:35 p.m. Sunday at East Iliff Avenue and South Sable Boulevard. Police said in a statement that the Graziano was headed westbound on Iliff when an eastbound Nissan Xterra tried to make a turn onto southbound Sable in front of him.

Graziano slammed into the SUV and died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan,  Solome Namubiry, 37, of Aurora, was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was not injured. Police said she is cooperating with their investigation.

The motorcycle was speeding at 60 mph in a 40-mph zone at the time of the crash, police said. The motorcycle’s speed likely played a role in the crash, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
