AURORA | A body found in an open space near South Chambers Road and East Yale Avenue is not the body of a 19-year-old woman missing since last week, police said.
Other than confirming that the body is not Kenia Monge, police haven’t released any further information about the case.
Investigators found the body after dark yesterday and guarded the crime scene all night, planning to gather evidence in the area today, according to police spokesman Detective Bob Friel.
Police have called the death “suspicious,” but have not said how the person may have died. Police have also not said what gender the body is or how long it may have been there.
The department’s major crimes unit, which investigates homicides and other suspicious deaths, is handling the case, police said.
