AURORA | The investigation into an apartment fire that left a 66-year-old woman dead last month could be complete later this week, an Aurora fire spokesman said Monday.
Aurora fire Capt. Al Robnett said the investigation into the March 26 fire at the Aspenwood Apartments near East Sixth Avenue and Potomac Street will determine whether the blaze was started deliberately.
Karen Dias, 66, died from injuries she sustained in a fall from an upper floor during the fire, according to the Arapahoe County coroner’s office. The coroner’s office said Dias’ manner death —whether a homicide, accident or something else — won’t be determined until fire and police officials complete their investigation.
The fire also left 11 people injured but those people are expected to survive.
