AURORA | After our photo red light story ran last week, I got a call from a reader wondering whether the machines worked on cars without a front license plate or with a temporary tag.
I checked the APD web site and it sounds like the machines photograph the rear plate, so a missing front plate wouldn’t matter.
As for the temporary tags, police emailed this morning and said even with a temporary plate, police are able to track it to the owner. It sounds like it just takes a bit more time for police to track down those owners than it does with a standard plate.
