AURORA | A 16-year-old student at Hinkley High School was hit by a car near the school Thursday morning, according to a local television report.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. near the school at East 13th Avenue and Chambers Road, 9News reported.
The station said the student was using a crosswalk at the entrance to the school’s parking lot when a white car entering the lot hit him. The student was taken to The Children’s Hospital with a leg injury, the station said.
The vehicle involved fled the scene but it wasn’t clear late Thursday whether police found the driver.
Aurora police did not immediately return calls for comment.
