After autopsy, mom's death still 'suspicious'

AURORA | A woman found dead in her apartment near her crying baby Saturday night was not obviously injured and her death remains suspicious, the Arapahoe County coroner’s office said Monday.

The coroner’s office said they performed an autopsy Monday on Camille Jackson, 21, but have not determined how Jackson died.

“The death is being considered suspicious and is pending further studies and investigation,” the coroner’s office said in a statement Monday.

Police found Jackson dead Saturday evening in her apartment in the 15400 block of East 13th Avenue.

Aurora police Sgt. Cassidee Carlson, a spokeswoman for the department, said when police entered the home, they found Jackson’s infant crying inside. The child was unharmed and is staying with family, she said.

Police searched the apartment and investigators are still considering the death suspicious, Carlson said.
