AURORA | Hinkley High School and nearby East Middle School were briefly locked down Thursday afternoon after a report of an man with a gun in the high school’s parking lot.
Police said they received a report around 1:30 p.m. of a man inside a vehicle in the parking lot who may have been holding a gun.
About two dozen officers responded to the school to search for the man.
Police said around 2:15 p.m. that they had not found the man reported to have a gun and the lockdown had been lifted.
A spokeswoman from Aurora Public Schools said the district was working with police to investigate the incident.
