AURORA | The father of a man slain last week outside an Aurora bar pleaded Friday for somebody to come forward with information about his son’s death.
Isaias Mitta’s 26-year-old son Trison Mitta was gunned down Jan. 28 outside the Sport Station Bar near East Eighth Avenue and Dayton Street.
On Friday, the Isaias Mitta said he hopes someone who knows what happened to his son comes forward because the killer is obviously a dangerous person.
“It’s not only for my son, but for the community, for everybody,” he said.
Police said Friday they have surveillance video of the shooting and believe there were several witnesses that saw what happened.
There are five people in particular — three black males in their late teens or early 20s and two black women — who police say they want to talk to. One of the men may be the shooter, police said.
Police described one of the women as being a light-skinned black woman with a large tattoo on her left thigh, tattoo on her right arm and a tattoo of numbers on her back. The other woman was described as very tall, possibly 6 feet, and wearing a pair of very short shorts.
One of the men was wearing a blue plaid jacket and a blue plaid hat, the others were wearing all black clothing. Police said the group tried to get into the bar earlier Friday but were denied. They cam back later and that’s when Mitta was shot.
“Our plea to the public is, if you know, or if you think that you know, any of these people, please contact the Aurora police. This could be the key that investigators need,” said Aurora police Sgt. Cassidee Carlson, a spokeswoman for the department.
Police are also looking for two vehicles, a gray SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon, and a gray, four-door sedan with tinted windows, possibly a Pontiac.
Carlson said police do not believe Mitta knew the people who killed him and it isn’t clear what led to the shooting. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Detective Gretchen Fronapfel at 303-739-6013 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
Note: Police are releasing more surveillance images later today, I will post them when I get a chance.
